How to order Amazon Japan as a tourist

You don't need a Japanese address or a Japanese credit card. Here's the exact process - from account creation to delivery at your hotel or local konbini.

This guide explains how to get your favorite Japanese snacks delivered to your hotel or a nearby convenience store.

01
Create an Amazon Japan account
Go to amazon.co.jp and create a new account using your existing email. Your international Visa or Mastercard works as payment - no Japanese card required. Amazon Japan is a separate account from amazon.com.
02
Add your hotel as a delivery address
Use the hotel’s full Japanese address - your hotel’s website will have this in both English and Japanese. In the name field, use "c/o [Your Name]". Most city hotels accept Amazon deliveries at the front desk.
03
Or choose konbini pickup
Select "convenience store pickup" at checkout. Choose 7-Eleven, Lawson, or FamilyMart. You’ll receive a pickup code by email - show it at the counter within 7 days. No language skills needed.
04
Check delivery timing
Standard Amazon Japan delivery is 1–3 business days. Amazon Prime Japan delivers next-day in most cities. Order early in your trip - don’t wait until your last day in a city.

Most ryokan accept deliveries but policies vary. Contact your ryokan directly before ordering. Konbini pickup is a more reliable alternative if you’re unsure.
